History

Originally a coaching Inn built around 1700 it has always been a retreat for travellers. The stabling was originally situated in what is now the hotel breakfast dining room.

The breakfast room contains items from H.M.S Warspite, which ran aground on the rocks in Mount's Bay in 1947. In the 1950s the room was converted in the Captain's Cabin Bar and fitted out to look like a cabin of the ship using the ‘Captain's Bunk’, panelling and brass porthole.

The hotel has built an excellent reputation over the last 25 years with locals and visitors, many who have stayed so often they've become part of the family. We are always happy to see new people and look forward to making you feel welcome.
